| 内容記述 | In most forms of English, there is a distinction between “light ［l］” and “dark ［］”,as in “leaf ” and “feel”. Accordingly, a narrow transcription of “leaf” would be ［lif］,and that of “feel” ［fi ］. Also claims have been made that the vocalization of dark ［］to ［ ］, for example “feel” ［fi ］, which is originally one of the features of Cockney,has already become standard in Received Pronunciation （RP）, over the course ofthis century. Cockney is a class dialect as well as a regional one, which is spreadwidely through the working class of London. “Estuary English” （London Regional RP）, is an accent which shows RP modified toward Cockney, including thisvocalization. This tends to be adopted by young people, wishing to avoid GeneralRP because of its stigma of being “posh”. | |||||
