Ltd's company strategy. Melton is a Sino-Japan joint venture between a Chinese private enterprise YANTAI SANWA GROUP and the well-known Japanese company YAMAHA Motor. Through the research and analysis of the two parties' joint strategies; we see the successful application of Porter's theory in this Sino-Japan joint venture with China economy's fast growth, which may make a reference for other Sino-Japan joint ventures in China. It has been seven years since Yantai Melton Mold Co. Ltd was established. The thesis analyses the making process, application and the result of the two parties' strategies with Porter's Competitive Strategies theory. The theory applied in this Sino-Japan joint venture is proved effective under today's economic environment in China.
