Mizuki was a cartoonist of the baby-boom generation whose major creative works were Kitaro in the Cemetery and Sanpei the Kappa, and Goethe is the famous German writer. This article addresses the connection between the greatest German writer and the Japanese yokai cartoonist who captivated the minds of post-war children.
