Most previous studies have applied picture books to existing disciplines, but this paper attempts to explain the power of human development in picture books without dwelling on preschool education. Therefore I examine picture books with human development theory in the light of educational anthropology. Picture books are not evaluated from an education viewpoint but in order to construct a human development theory from a picture book.
