The fort was constructed during the Qubilai reign in the second half of 13th century. There were many holes from 2m to 6m in diameter in the fort. One of the holes was excavated under the direction of the Mongolian archaeologist Prof. D.Bayar in August of 1998 as a part of the Japan-Mongol joint expedition on the Mongol history (1996-1998).\n The analysis by a recognized authority on metallic science, Mr.M.Osawa made it clear that it was made of the iron ore containing a high level of phosphorus (P). And it can be estimated that the iron parts made of soft material were jointed by forging and bending repeatedly, and cooled from around 750℃ by emanation.
