The manufacture of this special fabric was in danger of dying out in the 1980s due to scarcity of product and high retail cost, but was miraculously revived by the efforts of concerned individuals.\n This paper examines the contributions of three such people: a researcher and author, a fashion designer, and a manufacturer.
