One of the most significant changes of the pin~a industry since the revival is the improved wage levels and treatments of weavers, in contrast to the past when no attention was paid by entrepreneurs to their working conditions. Two of the cases of nascent international transactions which only began several years ago quite accidentally, have, so far, influenced the treatment of workers by employers whose biggest concern is the retention of reliable weavers with good skills for quality production. Changing attitudes of employers toward the weavers might further transform the employment system of the pin~a industry workers, which has traditionally been based on out work operations rather than full-time employment.
