There are three approaches to democratization support in termsof the extent of interference in internal affairs; coercion, persuasion, and consent.Next, international democratization support activities are classified into threecategories; helping foster democratic norms, promoting democratization, and defending democratization. We can combine the last two categories with the abovethree approaches. Then, activities in each category of democratization support,which have developed following the end of the Cold War are examines.
