Successive governments thatfollowed, either of the right（ Balladur, Juppe, Raffarin）or of the left（ Beregovoy, Jospin）intensified the move to liberalize the economy and to open it to anintegrated Europe and a globalized World. It was the era of globalization to whichFrance had to adapt itself. Now, at the beginning of the 21st century, we can seethat many former “national” companies are owned by foreign investment funds andare acting more on the principles of a market economy. Has the Frenchinterventionist tradition already gone?
