The possession rates, purpose and frequency of use ofsewing boxes, sewing machines and irons in homes were surveyed along with themaking of clothes. Additionally noted were the decrease in opportunity for studentsto practice sewing and handicrafts, the variety of practice, and nature of itemsproduced in school sewing courses. A relationship between awareness ofproduction and personality was also shown.
