Recently, probiotic products containing Lactobacillus species and prebiotics containing ingredients that feed the Lactobacillus have been developed. However, the effect of aqueous extracts of the seaweed on probiotics has not been examined. In this study, we investigated the effect of seaweed (Mozuku) extracts on growth of the Lactobacillus in probiotics. As a result, it was shown that the mozuku water extract has the effect of growing the Lactobacillus contained in the probiotics.
