In the first part, the author briefly describes the origin and features of Esperanto. It is an international language officially published for the first time in 1887 by a young ophthalmologist, Ludwik Lazaro Zamenhof. The author also discusses the strong points and weak points of Esperanto as an internationally neutral language. In the second part, the author’s essay Vivaĵa Kunvivado Kaj Homeca Kunvivado is presented both in Esperanto and Japanese. It was originally published in Esperanto. In the essay, he insists that there are two kinds of coexistence: the coexistence of living creatures and the coexistence of humans.
