Thus, the emergence of the information society has caused big changes in business. So, it is expected that the needs of secretaries are changing too. Therefore, we conducted a nationwide survey targeting secretaries in Japan to find out the changes in these needs. Our survey focused on how the needs of secretaries in business organizations have changed.\n　We analyzed the responses in the following two areas: 1) the changes of needs of secretaries, 2) new abilities and tasks of secretaries in recent years.
