The purpose of this paper is to analyse the response both by the government and the citizens of New Zealand after the massacre, given that the responses within the nation after the shootings earned applause world-wide. The paper looks first at the Prime Minister’s leadership and the movements by citizens that followed, then the messages from the leadership of the targeted Muslim communities.
